Welcome to Easy Five B&B
and self-catering guesthouse
Easy Five is a beautiful, elegant and completely laid back Cape Town-area guesthouse nestled between the waters of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountains on the doorstep of the world-famous Stellenbosch Winelands.
We offer comfortable bed-and-breakfast or self-catering accommodation in a quiet, lush garden setting complete with a heated, 10-metre swimming pool and a traditional thatched lapa with braai.
The centrepiece of the property is our crystal-clear, 10-metre, salt-water swimming pool. A high-efficiency heat pump keeps the water at a comfortable but still refreshing 25 degrees year-round. Full-length chaise-lounges edge the pool for your ultimate relaxation.
A large, traditionally thatched lapa is poolside. It features a built-in braai that guests can use to prepare their own South African barbecue meals. Soft drinks, mineral waters, wine and beer are available at the bar. It’s the perfect spot to kick back and relax after a game of golf or a day exploring the region.
We are a pair of Canadians with a wanderlust that brought us to visit South Africa in 2010, a first-time experience for Linda and a return for Francis to a part of the world where he spent several years of his childhood. A couple of years later, we conceived of the idea of buying a small tourism property here, a journey that culminated in 2015 with the purchase of Easy Five, our own little bit of Western Cape heaven.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Pulitzer, our seven-year-old Vizsla, will also be happy to welcome you. If he doesn’t do so in person, you will be sure to hear him announce your arrival. He can look daunting but he is a lover, not a fighter. We understand, however, that not everyone is comfortable with dogs so we usually keep him out of guest areas.
Easy Five has extensive landscaped gardens with towering palm trees, gorgeous jacaranda, producing fruit trees and an explosion of roses, hydrangea and other flowers that keep it colourful all year long. And not all of our visitors are the two-legged kind.
By Francis Two years ago, just after Linda and I started our first full season as the new owners here at Easy Five, the Lourensford wine estate just a few kms away from us organised an event to familiarise local guesthouse operators with everything this vast estate...read more
